Like everything we make, it's 100% pure beeswax: nothing added, no dyes, no synthetic fragrance. The scent is the beeswax itself - warm and lightly honeyed, the scent of the comb it came from, because it's made by bees, not mixed in a lab. Beeswax is a hard, dense wax, so a pillar this size takes its time and burns long and slow.

Candle care tip

Give a pillar a full first burn - one hour for every inch of width. A 3" pillar wants about a three-hour first light, long enough for the melt pool to reach the outer edge. That even first burn is what keeps a pillar from tunneling down the middle and wasting the outer wall. Always burn on a fire-safe plate or in a holder. the melt pool rule, explained โ†’
